I have been a professional photographer for 27 years, having started as a photojournalist , then running my own freelance photographic studio. The funny thing about the two is, as a photojournalist I spent five years trying to make people look as bad as I could because that’s what sells newspapers (and I could give you soooo many photography tips on making people look bad – but I won’t) and the past 22 years making people look fantastic because that’s what they are paying me for. To be honest I get far more enjoyment creating beautiful images wether it’s a baby portrait, a glamour portrait, landscape photography, a group of corporate board members or wedding photography, than I did making people look bad.
